Day #61 - Diet Coke (Marc Jacobs Edition)

I'll admit, this isn't one of my best drawings and I didn't particularly enjoy drawing it either. I wasn't in the best of moods that day and my motivations levels were pretty low :/ Anyhow, the subject I picked to draw was a special of edition of Diet Coke by Marc Jacobs. The design of the bottle was pretty awesome and I've loved the simple illustration. I'll definitely attempt to do a redraw of this. These are all the drawings I have actually completed so far, so I'll probably upload the ones I've yet to do in fours until I'm up to date ^^. Til next time!

Day #60 - Statue of African Woman

I'm currently staying over at my cousin's and finding things to draw has been tough to come, obviously I can find references images to use but I wanna try and cut down much time I spend on the Internet, particularly Tumblr. It's literally like a lost destination for procrastinators. Anyhow, I looking around and I came around this interesting statue, Funnily enough, when I was drawing this my auntie stated that I should've gotten a more bigger sketchbook to fit the whole drawing in and she's was right. The quality of paper is just perfect but the shape of it, if you've seen is mostly square and that doesn't bode well for mainly larger objects I wanna draw, so as soon as I get back to uni next month, gonna buy me a big beautiful kraft paper sketchbook. Hopefully, after that I'll stop spending cause the amount of sketchbooks I have so far is too funny. Til next time!

Day #59 - Goodbye (for now!)

This is the last in the mannequin series (for now). I've really enjoyed drawing the mannequin and I wanna try my hand at drawing him in different media (watercolour, oil paint?) Over the past few days, I thought it would good to see other's artwork to re motivate me again and  oh my gosh, I've got A LOT of practising to do to get at that level. The next week coming is African statues! Gotta love ancient artefacts.

Til next time,

Day #58 - Run!

>.<....
I am so sorry yet again guys, I actually completed this drawing on the actual day (6/12/14) but I went to a Christian Christmas event that same day and well, I was just too lazy to upload and then it carried on, like a domino effect and here I am now. The thing I've noticed as well, is the environment that I'm in effects how I work? I dunno if anyone else feels like this but if a room is too messy to work in, then it de-motivates me to work in it. Ever since I went back home, I haven't been able to work on the daily drawings, that and I'm currently doing my first internship which has been brilliant so far :D. So my sincere apologies, again, for the lack of posts. In the near future, I just upload what I have done rather than completing the rest of the drawings and then uploading.

Anyhow, this is day 58. After, I've used up the graded drawing pencils I'm using, I'll probably look for better quality from Winsor & Newton or other art suppliers. In the near future, I'm aiming to draw pencil on kraft paper like this . Apart from that, I have been continually in another sketchbook, just practising ideas I have or how I'm feeling currently. Again, I'm so sorry for the late updates and I hope you enjoy the drawing that I've done so far.

Day #57 - Down in the dumps

Have you had a bad day today? Did your internet mess you about? Did you stub your toe? Is your mood so far the equivalent of the drawing above? No worries. Just flip several tables, breath and relax. Jokes aside, if this day hasn't been your best, here's to an even better day tomorrow. In other good news, I have caught up with my drawings so back to actually doing  a drawing per day. Til next time! ^_^

Day #56 - Leaps and bounds

Media used: blue biro. For some reason, I could imagine the mannequin leaping through a field of flowers. I could draw that. Sure why not.

Day #55 - Walk like an Egyptian

*Walk like an Egyptian...* *ahem* Hooray for tonals! :D I was almost able to fit the mannequin's other leg in? Aha, sleeping pattern is a mess and I've just given up on it completely. >.> Hope everyone's good ^^

Day #54 - Ballet pose

I wouldn't say this is much of a pose cause I wasn't able to fit the arms and legs in (oops!) Media used : blue biro. Comparing the mannequin drawings that I did so far, I prefer doing them in pencil. I just love the effect of the tonal pencil.

Day #53 - Take a bow

Mannequin poses this week! Cue Rihanna - Take a bow. I bought one of those wooden mannequins that you use for practising poses so I thought why not use it for this week? Media used is shown on the left. If you really want the best quality I recommend going to a good art shop, it may be a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. :)

I was really happy with the drawing and differentiating between the different level tones of pencils. I look forward to the results I'll get from these in the future. In terms of media, I just felt like focusing on pencil and biro pen (again) But I'm aiming to do other mediums that I haven't used yet for this challenge: charcoal, oil pastels, Faber colouring pencils (that's gonna be a toughie), also I wanna try primacolour markers too. Soo much to experiment with *_*

Day #52 - Heart necklace

The last day of jewellery week. I happy with the outcome and how my pen skills have progressed too. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on what I should draw, that would be great.

Day #51 - Flower Earring

This is probably my least favourite drawings that I have done so far this week. The proportions aren't that good and I feel pretty neutral about it. Will definitely be adding this to my redraw list.

Day #50 - Heart Earrings

50 days of drawing?! Only another 315 more days to go.... Anyhow, moved onto earrings and I was happy with the outcome especially with the right earring because I feel like I'm getting there with drawing how light reflects on surfaces. Also, thanks to this challenge I stop drawing in my spare time which is good for me but bad for my projects.

Day #49 - Blue Heart Bracelet

One of my favourite bracelets and definitely one of my favourite drawings so far. Ummm, not much else to say apart from the usual. It's crazy how fast this year has flown by and that 2015 is in 26 days O_o. Hope you all have had a good week and a good year. Let's see what 2015 brings :D

Day #48 - Rose Ring

I love love LOVE drawing roses. They're just so beautiful to draw. I feel like my cross hatching is becoming a lot more tighter and refined which I'm happy with, but the random blots of ink coming out of the pen not so fun. -___-

Day #47 - Black Marble ring

Back again! and uploading! Sorry again guys! >.< Anyhow, day 2 of jewellery week was another ring. The proportions weren't the best, they were alright and I had drawn the black marbles: some bigger than the others. (Oops!) But I have really enjoyed drawing in blue ink so far. I recommend fellow artists, to get these kinds of blue pens from WHSmith or somewhere similar cause they are just the best and  feel that they bring out the right vibrancy of blue biro on white paper. Til next time!

Day #46 - Gold and green ring

Hey all, sorry for yesterday. I meant to upload the rest of the images but I got very sleepy and I needed to gather my portfolio for an internship interview. ^_^  Week beginning 24/11/14, my theme for the week was jewellery and decided to focus on using blue biro. A very good choice I must add, I really enjoyed using this medium (apart from getting ink on my hands and smudging it on the pages) and I feel like I'm getting better at using the method of cross hatching, the more I do it. I was very happy with the outcome and I hope you lot enjoy the rest. ^^

Day #45 - Redraw of day #23

Hooray for new sketchbook and good quality paper! :D I really needed a better texture and this sketchbook did just that. If you ever need a good one, checkout Paperchase. I got a sketchbook with 140 pages for £4.75 which I must say is very good considering how Paperchase is expensive somewhat. This redraw was of the crumpled up pieces of paper I did and I am really really happy with the outcome. Drawing with blue biro just entertains me to no ends. The week of drawing, I just used blue biro. It's so beautiful to use on white paper.

Day #44 - Redraw of day #32

I was pretty happy with the result of this redraw, but it probably would've made more common sense if I had used the art medium as well to see the difference, my bad! I think I was able to nail the smile more better in the fineliner drawing. Here's to improvement! :D

Day #43 - Redraw of day #31

I think I need to practice side mouth poses more to get better. I'd say I'm still on the same page when I first drew this pose. Feeling pretty neutral on this one. (REDRAW!) More practice i guess!
